What is SLATE

The Slate protocol is an open-source codebase that builds upon the developments of DASH, PIVX, and LBRY. SlateChain makes three key adaptations to these established protocols that collectively will optimize Slate for both blockchain based streaming service and ticketing functionality. SlateChain is a Proof of Stake (PoS) system, not a Proof of Work (PoW) system, thereby reducing the environmental impact, and opening up the possibility of strategically-aligned incentives for network participation.

Slate companies and users will be able to effectively create custom tokens to distribute and verify ownership in the ticketing industry. Consumers will have the ability to engage with friends or the community to share opinions, recommendations, and plans. Slatix will make it easy for users to buy tickets to events, send tickets to friends, reimburse friends for tickets, and display QR coded tickets for event admission. Ticket holders will also be able to resell tickets on the market directly within the application.
