Lisk provides a cost-efficient, fast, and scalable Layer 2 (L2) network based on Optimism (OP) that is secured by Ethereum. Built on the MIT-licensed OP Stack and partnered with Gelato as a RaaS provider, Lisk contributes to scaling Ethereum to a level where blockchain infrastructure is ready for mass adoption.
With Optimism's Superchain initiative, Lisk is participating in building the future it always believed in, which is to develop an interoperable, seamless base layer that provides a great user experience, shared liquidity, and cheap transactions to ensure that web3 revolutionizes peoples' lives just as web2 did. Lisk is part of Optimism's Superchain initiative, and it will be scaled and built by the experienced Lisk team in collaboration with Optimism. By being part of the Superchain, Lisk offers a network of chains that share bridging, decentralized governance, regular upgrades, a communication layer, and more—all built on the OP Stack while being secured by Ethereum.

Lisk Roadmap
An initial step in transitioning from an L1 to an L2, Lisk launches the Lisk Sepolia Testnet allowing existing builders to prepare for the migration early. The new Lisk L2 utilizes the OP Stack, the most popular, full open source L2 stack, providing builders the best possible technical foundation for their app.
With the Developer Mainnet launch, developers are now able to deploy their app into production directly on Lisk Mainnet, gaining access to all the innovation, libraries and tooling in the Ethereum space due to the full EVM equivalence of the OP Stack.
With this milestone, Lisk completes its migration from an L1 to an L2 becoming the first Layer 1 blockchain in the industry to successfully complete this transition. Additionally, the LSK token is migrated to an ERC-20 token, the Lisk DAO is launched with a significant treasury, and a LSK staking program is introduced.
The User Mainnet is live, complete with the necessary wallets, bridges, and initial applications, for end-users to start taking full advantage of the Lisk ecosystem! L2 launch complete.
Activating fault proofs marks a crucial milestone toward decentralization, enabling anyone to monitor and challenge invalid withdrawals in a fully permissionless manner, eliminating the need for a trusted third party. With this step, Lisk becomes a Stage 1 rollup.
The Superchain Interoperability Milestone enables seamless assets and data transfers across all its members, bringing the industry closer to a fully interconnected and accessible Web3 ecosystem.
We are actively working on additional products and tooling for mobile first, bridging the gap of web2/web3, and UX (abstraction) to further support builders in high-growth markets.
As an important step towards decentralization, this milestone will enable LSK holders to participate in sequencing transactions in the Lisk L2 and receiving a portion of the transaction fees as a reward.
