What is Giftcoin

The project is based on the Giftcoin token (GIFT), created for making charitable contributions. Giftcoin’s aim is to create trust and transparency in charitable giving through end-to-end giving allowing donors to see how exactly their money is being spent.

Giftcoin platform is based on Ethereum blockchain, and GIFT tokens are issued based on the ERC20 standard, with most transactions processed outside the Ethereum network using a separate account. The Giftcoin platform will use smart contracts for creating milestones for projects, with funds released only when the milestones are achieved.

A large number of projects is available on the Giftcoin platform. After each purchase, the service rounds up the payment and converts extra to Giftcoin tokens, thus allowing users to accumulate them.

Giftcoin also allows users to track their donations, so that they could know how their funds are being spent.

In the future, Giftcoin is planning to expand to an ecosystem including such components as lending, financial software and payment systems.
