What is Flowcom

FlowCom’s first and foremost functionality draws inspiration from the multi-billion-dollar advertisement industry to design and implement a three-party architecture that aims to bring 5G and satellite internet to the mass. The first party comprises internet users (or surfers) that would like to use 5G or satellite internet connection on-the-spot. They seek a secure and convenient manner to enjoy such connections without the burden of paying a tremendous premium or subscription fee.

The second party involves 5G-based and/or satellite internet service providers, who would like to charge a pay-per-use service fee in exchange for offering surfers access to their services. The third party consists of advertisers or merchants who would like to engage surfers’ activity and interactions with products or brands of their choice.

In its most basic functionality, FlowCom enables surfers to “mine” the right to use 5G or satellite internet connections by engaging in advertisers’ campaigns. It can be as simple as watching a 30-second video, or answering a multiple-choice survey posted by the advertisers. The campaigns may also require the surfers to be more proactive, such as writing reviews or recommendations for their services or products. Different levels of activity would entitle the surfers to different rewards. The advertisers, in exchange for surfers’ engagement, pay the internet service providers for surfers’ usage of the latter’s service. The internet service provider enjoys not only revenue from offering their service, but also a potentially tremendous source of data on surfers’ preference from their online activity, which they can capitalise on by selling such data to the advertisers.

To draw an analogy, this model is much like what Youtube is currently offering. End Users enjoy the videos on the platform mostly free of charge, but are minorly bothered with some ads along the way. The content creators get paid based on the engagement that ads embedded in their video attract, and the advertisers gain large exposure for their brands or products.
