Grass airdrop (retrodrop): guideline activities

So, today’s topic is Grass — a project that dragged out its second drop for nearly two years. Today, they finally announced a rewards checker. But surprise it’s not a token distribution of GRASS. It’s a payout in USDC.

Grass is the pioneer of browser-based nodes. They already dropped their first airdrop back in 2024 (almost two years ago). Back then, rewards were incredibly generous, requiring minimal effort and cost from users. After that, the team launched the farming phase for the second drop.

Grass officially opened the rewards checker for Stage 2 — participants from Epochs 1–19 can now check their allocation. But instead of tokens, the rewards for unused internet bandwidth will be paid out in $USDC stablecoins. The team confirmed this via their official Twitter.

Naturally, this raises some logical questions:

“After 2 years of activity, I’ll get a couple of bucks?”

“If they’re paying in USDC, what’s the point of the $GRASS token?”

Right now, it all looks pretty weird. That 3M $USDC pool? It seems like it wasn’t funded from project profits (e.g., selling user bandwidth) — more likely, it came from the project’s own budget, possibly from selling $GRASS tokens.

Translation: our bandwidth and resources over 2 years are worth… a few bucks.

• The checker actually shows $USDC rewards for Human Conversation Data (speech data used for AI training) — not for Season 2 farming.
• The amount is based on Diamonds earned in the first 19 Epochs.
• There are still points unaccounted for.
• Current rate: 1 Diamond ≈ 0.0049 USDC.

There’s no word yet on the actual $GRASS token distribution for Stage 2. An update was expected on July 7 — there’s a community call with holders planned. Hopefully, we’ll get clarity then on this… unconventional decision from the team.

Rumors have emerged about the approximate date for the Season 2 airdrop.

This is the very project that started the "browser node" trend and opened up new earning opportunities for everyone, having already distributed a very tasty airdrop for the first season.

What's New with Grass?

Over the last 4-5 months, Grass has secured $10M in new investment from Polychain Capital and Tribe Capital.

They also launched the 13th farming epoch, released a mobile app with farming, and, most importantly, added Network Points (These are awarded for the use of your internet, not just via the Grass Lite Node extension, so I advise you not to miss out). In my opinion, these will play a very important role in Sybil filtering.

What about the second airdrop?

As usual, there is no official information. There were many rumors that the airdrop would happen at the same time as the first one – in October. But back in the summer, Discord mods wrote that the airdrop would be at the end of 2025. However, after the recent podcast with the CEO, everything changed.

What was on the podcast?

In short, the co-founder of $GRASS announced the Season 2 distribution, stating that it will begin in Q1 2026 and will be a big surprise for the community in December, similar to the first airdrop.

Grass is a project developed by Wynd Network that allows users to monetize their unused network resources by adding their internet-connected devices to the network.

The project has launched Epoch 8, and the farming continues.

One of the Discord moderators confirmed that the airdrop is expected before the end of this year.
