What is Solarex

Solarex is a platform that will provide cheap, decarbonized, efficient and sustainable energy for all while passionately focusing on customer satisfaction within the industry’s best standard and practice. Solarex will continually reinvent and explore new options in the energy market while providing value added services to our esteemed customers within a continent that is in dire need of energy. 

Creating opportunities and making energy users become a part of Solarex project remains at the heart of our plans to revolutionize the energy market. The idea is to extend energy to users in a structured and simple manner that will impact positively on the entire continent in years to come.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of the of Solarex Model for disruptive, decarbonised, decentralised and democratised Solar Energy Project. It is assumed that the reader has a basic understanding of the energy market, blockchain technology, crypto utility token, project financing, energy regulatory and policy.

Solarex Solution in a Community

The solution to the current energy crises must be a vibrant, robust, and sustained system. This is exactly what the Solarex Model offers. We believe that the preferred solution to the current energy crises should be a robust and sustainable system which makes the best use of contemporary and emerging technologies including blockchain, smart contracts, solar farms, home PV (home solar system), smart microgrids, smart meters, internet of things devices and P2P energy trading. The Solarex Model is a one-stop to low carbon economy at the same time offering cheap, secure and cleaner energy for all.

Solarex will map out the considerable radius and sometimes based on the numbers of consumers in a given location, we will determine the numbers of consumers that will be able to connect to a specific microgrid. The microgrid will connect all consumers, both those with home solar installation and those without to the solar farm. All consumers will have Solarex smart meter to be able to tap and trade energy from the microgrid.

The main source of energy generation will be from a solar farm, and the size of the farm will depend on the size of the area to be served. The solar farm's smart meter records the energy generated and records this on the blockchain. The smart contract in the blockchain is an essential feature as all transactions will be done through the smart contact. All consumers will be connected to the blockchain via the smart meter and will be connected together through the smart microgrid that will allow bidirectional electric flow.

Consumers with the Rooftop solar panel will be in two types - those that have fully owned Solar PV installed, and those that are on a lease. The consumers that are on lease, will have Solar panels installed on their homes through one of the various financing options Solarex will be offering.

Also, the last set of consumers within the Solarex Model are those that consume energy directly from the solar farm, these set of consumers do not have home solar installations, therefore, will buy energy directly from the Solar Farm. And these set of consumers will be able to purchase energy from neighbours selling their excess energy through a platform called the peer2peer energy trading platform.
