What is Canton Network

The Canton Network is the first privacy-enabled open blockchain network designed to bridge traditional finance (TradFi) and cryptocurrency markets. It allows institutions to synchronize assets, data, and applications across siloed systems in real-time while maintaining strict privacy, control, and regulatory compliance. Built to address the fragmentation in financial infrastructure, Canton enables seamless interoperability without relying on central intermediaries, fostering innovation in tokenized assets and beyond.

Canton's core mission is to unify disparate financial ecosystems—such as capital markets, payments, and institutional crypto—into a synchronized, decentralized framework. This unlocks new opportunities for growth and efficiency, like 24/7 trading and tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), all while preserving the privacy and controls essential for regulated industries.

Launched in 2023 as a proof-of-concept, Canton went live for production in late 2024 and is now operational with growing participation. By September 2025, it's seeing active pilots and trades, including a landmark Saturday repo transaction in August 2025. The network boasts dozens of members, from banks to tech firms, and is expanding via events like Korea Blockchain Week and Token2049 (September 2025), where the team is hosting sessions.
