What is Elyon Chain
Elyon Chain is an EVM-compatible Layer 2 blockchain designed around protocol-level revenue attribution and configurable economic routing. At launch, Elyon is designed to operate as a dedicated execution network with its own validator authorization, RPC entry attribution, staking, registry, and fee accounting layers. Over time, the network may expand toward broader settlement-layer and interoperability functions, including cross-chain liquidity and application-specific settlement integrations.
In most blockchain systems, native transaction costs compensate validators or block producers, while many contributors that create network demand are rewarded indirectly or manually. Elyon introduces a model where eligible network participants can receive transparent, on-chain attribution from defined distributable fee sources.
Elyon separates native gas fees from application-level or protocol-configured distributable fees. Native EVM execution fees follow the standard gasUsed x gasPrice model. Any percentage-based examples in this whitepaper, including the 0.3% examples, are illustrative application-level or distributable fee examples and do not imply a universal tax on every chain transaction unless explicitly enabled by a specific application, module, or governance-approved protocol configuration.
The network combines APOS consensus, URELAY1 relay attestations, staking-based validator authorization, RPC entry attribution, ELNRegistry infrastructure, contract creator revenue eligibility, treasury routing, and an in-block fee distribution layer. Fee accounting is designed to be deterministic once included in a valid block, while onboarding, authorization, and operational controls follow transparent governance and administration rules.
