Asentum is a Layer1 blockchain built entirely on JavaScript, including its nodes, smart contracts, and consensus layer. It uses Tendermint-style BFT consensus with a rotating set of ~100 validators and integrates the NIST-standard post-quantum signature scheme ML-DSA-65 for quantum-resistant security. Smart contracts are deployed as plain JavaScript source code without compilation, executed in a hardened SES sandbox, immutable, and verifiable via a simple hash comparison. Users interact with the chain through an Ethereum-compatible JSON-RPC interface, sign transactions with the Asentum wallet, and write/deploy contracts directly in browsers or Node.js.

What is Asentum

Asentum is a post-quantum Layer-1 blockchain built entirely in JavaScript, featuring NIST-standard ML-DSA-65 signatures from the genesis block and smart contracts written in plain, readable source code. The network employs Aura block production with GRANDPA finality across a rotating committee of approximately 100 validators, deliberately tuned to run on ordinary consumer hardware including a Raspberry Pi 4 as the minimum supported floor.

The project prioritizes long-term cryptographic resilience and genuine decentralization over data-center dependency. With a live public testnet, incentivized participation already underway, and a growing set of native applications, Asentum positions itself as infrastructure designed to remain secure and accessible well into the post-quantum era.
